A pair of high heels for women has to do two things. Look right for the occasion, and still be wearable when that occasion runs three hours longer than anyone planned. Most shoe listings only handle the first part.
This collection handles both. Everything here starts at three inches, whether you want high pencil heels for women, women platform heels, or something on a wider base. Every style carries its real heel height, and the sizing advice below changes by style, because ours honestly do not all fit the same way.
All Pair look very classy in a good price range. The feel wow, came with neat packaging, The heels look stunning and elegant. The quality is too premium, it's worth it and so comfortable to wear! It doesn't hurt your toes. You can easily wear it all day. Women Loved it.It looks exactly as shown in the picture. In addition to that, the delivery man did his job well.
What Counts as a High Heel, and What Does Not
Heel height, definedÂ
The term gets used quite loosely online. The same shoe is listed as high heel shoes for women on one site, high heel heels for women on another, and plain "heels" on a third. Many shoe stores call a two inch heel "high" because often it sells better.
Here is the definition most people actually use. Under two inches is a low heel. Two to two and a half is a mid heel, comfortable and forgettable. Three inches and above is a high heel, and that is where the leg line changes and the walk changes with it.
Why this collection starts at three inchesÂ
We have kept this collection to three inches and up. For something gentler for daily wear, the everyday heels for women collection is the better place to start.
One thing worth knowing first. A platform under the front of the shoe cancels out part of the heel height, so it photographs dramatically and walks far easier than the number suggests. Where a style has a platform, we list that height separately.
JM Looks drew the line at three inches for one reason that is where the high demand actually is. Nearly everything customers ask us for starts at three and goes up. Anything shorter feels like a relaxed everyday shoe, which is a good thing, but a different thing, so it sits in its own collection.Â
How We Choose What Goes Into This CollectionÂ
Every style starts as a sample on a table in our Delhi office. Two of us look at it before anything else happens. The first check is the heel: we hold the shoe and push the heel sideways, and if there is any give at all, the sample goes back. Then the strap stitching, then how the sole bends. Roughly one in three samples does not make it past that table.
What we do not do is reject a style for being demanding. A thin five inch heel is never going to be a shoe you stand in for four hours, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. We keep it, and we tell you what it is for. That is what the height and stability notes above are doing.
Pick the Height First, Then the Style
Choose the number before you fall for the design. It saves a lot of regret.
Pick the height firstÂ
Three inches. The everyday high heel. JM Looks bow slingback stiletto heels sit here at a true three inches, as does the belt buckle slingback stiletto. Enough lift to change the outfit, still fine for an office day. If you have not worn heels much, start here.
Three and a half to four inches. Statement height. Manageable on a block or wedge base. On a thin heel it becomes an evening shoe, and you will want to be sitting for part of it.
Five inches. The tallest we stock. Most five inch styles here sit on a platform, a wedge or a wide block base, and that is deliberate. A five inch stiletto with nothing under the toe is a photograph, not an evening.
Almost everything at 3 inch height sits on a platform or a wedge, and those are the styles we see swapped for a bigger size more than any other.Â
Types of High Heels, and Who Each One Suits
The type of high heels you pick matters more than the number on the heel size. A four inch wedge is easier to spend a day in than a three inch stiletto, every time.
| Style | Height here | Stability | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stiletto and pointed heels | 3 to 4 in | Low | Dinners, parties, seated events |
| Block high heels | 3 in and up | High | Office, long functions, uneven ground |
| Platform high heels | 4 to 5 in | High | Sangeets, receptions, standing hours |
| Wedge high heels | 3 to 5 in | Highest | Outdoor events, grass, brunches |
| Kitten high heels | Under 3 in | High | Lighter everyday wear |
Â
If stability and comfort matters more to you than height. Start with block heels or wedge heels rather than scrolling for the tallest thing here. And if you want womens heeled sandals rather than a closed shoe. The strappy and buckle designs are the ones to look at.
Three Ways to Wear High Heels for Women
Work, wedding and weekendÂ
Work. Three inch block or a pointed slingback. Office floors in most Delhi buildings are tile or polished stone, exactly where a thin heel gets loud and slippery. A wider base fixes both. A pair of women's black heels in a three inch block will cover more of your week than anything else you own.
Wedding. Height and standing time fight each other here. A cousin's sangeet means four hours upright, dancing, on carpet or grass. Platform is the answer: you get the height in the photos and it takes pressure off the ball of your foot. A slim five inch heel looks incredible for ninety minutes, then you carry it.
Weekend. Lower and lighter. A three inch wedge or a strappy block with jeans. If you are taking the metro, there is a walk on either side of it, and that walk decides the evening more than the outfit does.
Colour and seasonÂ
Monsoon. Suede-look finishes and open toes do not get along with July. Save those for the dry months.
Black and cherry are the two colours that move here, and between them they account for two thirds of everything that leaves our warehouse.Â
Cherry runs ahead through the early part of the year and black catches up as the season turns. If you are picking one pair to start with, black is the safer first buy and cherry is the one you come back for.Â
Sizing, Fit and CareÂ
Sizing: Which Styles to Size Up, and Which Not To
Read this before you order.
Size up by one in stiletto and pointed toe styles, in platform styles, and in block heels generally. When customers exchange these, the overwhelming majority move up rather than down. Platform styles run the smallest of anything we make, so if you are between sizes there, take the larger one.
Slingback block heels are the exception. These run generous, and customers who exchange them almost always come back down a size. Order your usual size, or go down one if you are between sizes. The slingback glossy block heels with buckle are the pair people ask about most.
Size ranges vary by style. Not every design is stocked in the full range we carry, so check the size selector on the product page.
On returns, we run exchanges rather than refunds, with a reverse shipment fee of Rs 150. Which is exactly why we would rather you got the size right the first time.
We did not work this out from a size chart. We worked it out from our own exchange records, style by style, and then put it on the page instead of leaving you to find out after the parcel arrives.Â
Breaking Them In, and Making Them Last
New pairs need patience, especially anything above three inches or on a thin heel. Wear them indoors first, two short sessions at home on a hard floor, before you take them anywhere that matters. It lets the strap settle and lets your foot find where the pressure sits.
Store them upright rather than piled in a heap, keep them out of direct sun, and wipe patent finishes with a soft dry cloth.
Buying a work pair and an occasion pair together? The two pairs for Rs 1,299 offer works out to Rs 649 a pair.
Common Questions
What heel height should I start with if I have not worn heels much?
Three inches, on a block or a platform rather than a thin heel. It changes your height without asking your ankle to do anything unfamiliar. Once three feels easy, four is a small step up. Going straight to five usually ends with the shoes in your hand.
Which of these can I actually stand in for a full function?
Platform and block styles. The platform reduces how much weight lands on the front of your foot, and a wide base gives you a stable footprint on carpet, tile or grass. Thin heels suit evenings where you will be seated for part of it.
Does a five inch heel with a platform feel like five inches?
No, and that is the point. Subtract the platform height from the heel height to get what your foot feels. A five inch heel on a one inch platform walks close to a four inch, while the height in photos stays the same.
